Run Your Whole Workshop From One Dashboard

Workshop management software for Australian mechanics: job cards, quotes, parts & stock, purchase orders, plus automated email + SMS service reminders.

Run Your Whole Workshop From One Dashboard

Spanner is workshop management software for Australian mechanics — customers, vehicles, bookings, job cards, quotes, parts, invoicing, and automated service reminders, built for automotive trade businesses rather than bolted on from someone else's system. Every job is tracked from booking to invoice, stock adjusts itself as parts go onto jobs, and every customer gets an email and SMS reminder when their next service is due — automatically, with no separate reminder software to bolt on.

Live in 3 Steps

1. Set Up Your Workshop

Import your existing customers, vehicles, parts and suppliers — or start fresh. Add your team, each with their own login.

2. Run the Whole Job

Quote, book, and open a job card. Add labour and parts — stock adjusts itself, and a purchase order goes out the moment something runs low.

3. Invoice, Get Paid & See It All

Invoice on the spot, and the next service reminder is already scheduled. Sales, stock and performance reporting update automatically.

Everything a Workshop Actually Needs

Job Cards & Invoicing

Every job — customer, vehicle, parts, labour — tracked from booked to invoiced, with line items that total themselves.

Automated Service Reminders

Email and SMS reminders bring customers back for their next service automatically — a heads-up before it's due, then a follow-up if they haven't booked.

Quotes That Convert

Send a quote, then convert it straight into a job card the moment the customer says yes — no re-keying the line items.

Parts & Stock Control

Know what's on the shelf, what's low, and what a job actually costs — stock adjusts automatically as parts go onto jobs.

Vehicle Service History

Every past job is kept against the vehicle automatically — know exactly what was done, and when, the moment a regular customer books back in.

Purchase Orders, Emailed

Reorder alerts on low stock, and a purchase order emailed straight to your supplier — no separate ordering system.

Individual Staff Logins

Every mechanic gets their own login and sees the full dashboard — accountability without a locked-down permission maze.

Sales & Performance Reporting

Revenue by mechanic, stock valuation, jobs completed, and a billing-completeness check for jobs missing labour time.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Spanner send service reminders automatically?

Yes — every vehicle gets a 3-stage reminder cadence (a heads-up before it's due, a reminder on the day, and a follow-up if they still haven't booked), sent by email and SMS, included on every plan. Customers can opt out of SMS or a specific reminder at any time.

How many SMS reminders are included, and can they be AI-written?

30/month on Basic, 60/month on Growth, 150/month on Premium — email reminders are unlimited on every plan. Basic uses a standard template; Growth and Premium can have reminders composed per customer by AI instead.

Does Spanner replace my accounting software?

No — Spanner exports your sales and purchases as a CSV ready to import into MYOB, Xero, or QuickBooks. It isn't a live sync, matching how most workshop software actually handles this.

Can walk-in customers get an invoice without a full job card?

Yes — Counter Sales are a standalone walk-in invoice for parts or quick jobs that don't need a vehicle or job card at all.

What happens when a part runs low?

Low-stock parts show up on your dashboard, and you can generate a purchase order and email it straight to the supplier from inside Spanner.

Do all my mechanics need their own login?

It's optional per person. Everyone who logs in sees the identical full dashboard — no restricted views — so the value is accountability (who did what), not access control.

Does Spanner handle payroll and STP?

It tracks hours and estimates pay for export, but it isn't ATO STP-compliant payroll software — pair it with a certified provider like Payroller for actual pay runs.

Is this only for mechanics?

No — anything with customers, vehicles, and jobs works: general mechanical, tyre and wheel, auto electrical, smash repair, mobile mechanics, and more.
